In addition to the core subjects of Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies, we emphasize the need of Art, Music, Physical Education, Library Skills, Guidance and Computer Sciences in the students educational program. At Arkansaw Elementary School, we believe that the students must be exposed to all areas of education in order to enhance their future educational goals. A great deal of importance is also placed upon Citizenship and Community Support. We try to stress to the student their importance to their local community as well as society as a whole. Caddie Woodlawn Early Learning Center is located on a hill overlooking the city of Durand and is home to approximately 120 students. Birth-3, Early Childhood, 4-year-old Kindergarten, Kindergarten, Adult Education and Kid’s Quest are housed within the building. The staff at Caddie Woodlawn is dedicated to providing a positive educational experience for each student. Caddie Woodlawn functions with the belief that inspiring children early to learn in a positive, fun-filled atmosphere will help them not only with their future educational goals, but will increase their self-confidence socially. To ensure that students receive the best possible education, staff members at Caddie Woodlawn attend workshops and take graduate courses to keep as current as possible with the latest trends in education. This enables the staff to blend the best of the old methods with the best of the new methods to benefit the students.
